Hyprsense Team joins Epic Games Family
We are thrilled to share that Epic Games is acquiring the technology of Hyprsense, a leading developer of real-time facial animation technology.
Animating convincing digital characters allows players and creators to feel truly present in an immersive socially connected experience. Using Hyprsense’s technology we hope to empower people to express themselves in an entirely new and authentic way. With this acquisition, Epic can also further its work to make content production more accessible.
“We are proud and excited to bring our character animation technology into the Epic Games ecosystem. Joining Epic gives us the opportunity to deliver new solutions and experiences on a massive scale,” said Jihun Yu, co-founder and CEO of Hyprsense. “We are so grateful to the Hyprsense team for their tireless work to get us here, as well as our customers, partners and supportive investors.”
“Bringing on the Hyprsense team enables us to continue pushing digital character innovation even further and approach the goal of giving all creators full control over expressing their vision down to the smallest nuance," said Kim Libreri, CTO of Epic Games.
Members of the Hyprsense team will partner closely with Epic's game development teams and also collaborate with its digital humans team, led by 3Lateral and Cubic Motion. This will help accelerate Epic’s journey to build new and better tools and systems for developers and players alike. It will also give Unreal Engine creators the ability to deploy and drive the most advanced character assets, on any platform.
